Frequently Asked Questions

Can I serve pie instead of wedding cake?

Absolutely! Pie is a delicious, memorable alternative to wedding cake, and we’ll create custom pies and party favors that look as fantastic as they taste. Each pie typically serves 8, and we recommend booking at least one month before your event. We offer delivery and set up for a $50 fee, accommodate dietary restrictions, and even host pie-making classes for bridal parties and private groups. Schedule a private tasting to start planning something sweet. For $30, you’ll sample every pie on our current menu.

Do you offer savory pies?

Yes! Our West Seattle cafe serves fully baked savory pies daily, along with seasonal tarts and several varieties of handpies. Craving dinner at home? Every cafe also carries Chicken Pot Pie and Shepherd’s Pie as frozen take-n-bake options, plus select frozen handpies, ready whenever you are.

Do you offer pie that's vegan, gluten or sugar-free?

Yes to vegan: any of our fruit pies can be ordered with a vegan crust. We’d love to accommodate everyone, but gluten-free and sugar-free ingredients are tricky to bake without compromising the quality we insist on, so we don’t currently offer a gluten-free pie. For a complete list of allergens in each of our pies, please call or email us and we’ll be happy to help.

Do you offer gift cards?

We do, with one catch: we currently don’t sell gift cards online. Physical gift cards are available for purchase in person at our West Seattle and Ballard cafes (listed on our HOME page), and they make a perfect gift for any pie lover.

Is A la Mode Pies hiring?

Yes, we often are! We regularly look for talented, pie-loving people to join our team in front of house, baking, prep, and delivery roles. Email us your resume, and we’ll reach out when the right opportunity opens up.

Are your pies baked fresh every day?

A la Mode Pies is a neighborhood cafe at heart. Every one of our pies is baked fresh daily in our large West Seattle kitchen, then delivered to our other cafes, so whichever neighborhood you visit, your slice is fresh from the oven.

Where does A la Mode Pies offer delivery?

Yes! In fact, we were the first bakery in Seattle to offer delivery. We bring pie to your home or office from Shoreline to South Seattle through UberEats and DoorDash (prices vary by location). We also offer in-house delivery for catering orders at a flat $30 fee, and wedding delivery and set up for a flat $50 fee.

What are the delivery fees?

We’ve delivered through UberEats since 2023. UberEats charges a delivery fee and location-based city taxes, and 100% of tips go to your driver. For delivery problems or refunds, please contact UberEats at 1-800-253-9377, as we're unable to issue refunds or provide replacement pies on delivery orders.

My organization is hosting an event - does A la Mode donate to community events and fundraisers?

Giving back to our community is important to us, and we do our best to support local causes. Requests are handled on a first come, first served basis. Because we receive a large volume of requests, we’re not able to respond to every one. To submit a request, click here. Please note that we typically do not donate pie-making classes.
